Oat Protein and Fiber Apple Cinnamon Smoothie

Do we ever get enough protein and fiber? Honestly, I know I don’t. That’s why I started drinking this afternoon smoothie that tastes like apple pie—and I can’t stop! It’s packed with fiber from oats, oat milk, and apples, plus a protein boost from Greek yogurt and protein powder. It’s the perfect way to hit both your fiber and protein goals without even thinking about it.

Pro Tip: Freeze a bunch of bananas in individual snack-sized Ziplock bags right when you get home from the store. That way, you’ll always have a frozen banana ready to go whenever you want to make a smoothie. (Sure, you can use a fresh banana, but if you do, you might need to add ice to chill the smoothie since the banana is the only frozen fruit in the mix. I recommend slicing the bananas before freezing for easier blending!)

I’m going to plug both my blender and my protein powder here, because NestKeepr, they’re life. Seriously, this protein powder is the only one I’ve ever tried that actually tastes good. Ingredients:

  • 1 chopped apple
  • 1 sliced (frozen) banana
  • 1 large spoon of Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Cup of Oat Milk
  • 1 Cup of Oats
  • A generous dash of Cinnamon
  • 1 scoop Protein Powder

Instructions:

  1. Wash and chop your apple.
  2. Grab a frozen banana from the fridge and add it to the blender.
  3. Add a generous spoonful of yogurt.
  4. Pour in the oat milk.
  5. Add the oats.
  6. Scoop in your protein powder.
  7. Sprinkle a hearty dash of cinnamon.
  8. Blend until smooth.
  9. Enjoy!
